The need for Mentors is Great. Many inmates feel that they just won’t be able to make it in the free world.
-
WHAT IS PRISON MENTORING?
Prison Mentoring is all about a mentor volunteer helping a soon-to-be released inmate make a successful transition back into the free-world with emphasis on Faith, Family & Vocation.
A Prison Chaplain or a Volunteer Coordinator initiates the transition by matching a volunteer with an inmate one-on-one.
-
HOW SAFE IS THE PROGRAM?
Mentor volunteers are escorted as a group into a chapel-like setting. Only inmates who have been approved by the Chaplain to participate in the program will be allowed in the chapel.
-
CAN I OBSERVE THE PROGRAM?
YES! Let us know 3 weeks ahead of a scheduled program to arrange a visit— with NO obligation to continue. Experience group fellowship & worship. You may sit with an established mentor pairing first and THEN let the Coordinator know if you wish to commit to be a mentor.
