Murray was employed by Tenneco Oil Co. in various cash management roles for 32 years, during which
he co-founded a National non-profit professional organization. After retiring, he went on to co-found
the predecessor organization for CRJMA and serve as its first Executive Director.
He has served as an In-Prison Mentor Program Coordinator – setting up the first program at TDCJ’s Ellis
Unit and then later serving as Coordinator at the Eastham (now Wainwright) Unit. Most of his inmate
mentees over the years have not returned to prison.
